Did you see it this week? The Biggest loser…..
I saw only a few minutes but what I saw made me sit straight up and say “how could they not know that?” That is a perfect example of what I keep telling my clients…
One of the guys got up on the scale for weigh in and watched with anticipation………..and…….Oh my!
He gained 3 pounds! How could that be?
Then it came out……with great emotion and disbelief, He said something to the effect of - I cut my calories by 500-600 every day this week so I was sure to drop some weight---
All my clients and boot campers know this doesn’t work - If you drastically drop your calories, your body will adjust to the lower level and go into a survival mode – end result….just like on the biggest loser, ****no weight loss **** potential weight gain!!!!

Here is a refresher to keep your furnace burning and keep you on track ----

Basic Dieting rules:
1- Eat 5-6 meals per day
Keep your metabolism burning. If you skip meals your body will go into a starvation mode and keep the calories you consume.
2 -Keep your calorie count at a realistic number to keep the furnace burning.
Lower your level slowly and increase your exercise output. If you drastically drop an extra 500 calories from 1800 to 1300, your body will respond by learning how to function on less calories and slow your metabolism. Instant disaster.
3 -Include fruits and veggies at every meal
Fruits and veggies add bulk, fiber, and nutrients to your diet. These are usually quality calories which you should include at EVERY meal.
4 -Drink 80-90 oz of water per day
Yes- 80-90 oz.

Keep the momentum….You only get one body
